NEWCOMERS MINISTRY
The Newcomers Ministry identifies and welcomes newcomers to Westminster. Newcomers receive a welcoming package providing information on our church.
Newcomers are also invited to a special gathering to meet other recent congregants. Members of the Newcomers Ministry and some Council Members are also asked to participate.
These gatherings are a time to meet other's that are new to the church as well as other members of the church. Lunch is provided at these special gatherings, held twice a year or as required.
The members at present are: Ethel Paton, Wendell Manners, Joyce Singh, Ken Laing, Wendy-Lynne Jarvis and Marilyn Teel.
If you have any questions about this, please contact us .
STUDY GROUPS
Faith is a journey, and we encourage ourselves to learn and to continue to be challenged along the way.
Study groups are usually offered during special church seasons such as Advent and Lent.
Membership sessions are offered seasonally where we can learn and update ourselves on what it means to be a member of the United Church of Canada and a follower of Jesus.
We currently meet via zoom every Thursday at 10:20 am please refer to the home page for the link. We are reflecting on "Disciplines" a book of daily devotions.
Everyone is welcome.

PASTORAL CARE
The Pastoral Visitors Group visits members and friends of the congregation who are hospitalized or shut in, and takes Communion to those members who desire it. We also keep in touch with telephone calls as needed.
At Christmas and Easter we distribute plants to those who have needed the outreach of pastoral care. Sometime illness, mobility challenges or the demands of care giving keep people away. We notice their absence. These plants offer a reminder that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
Questions and Comments are welcome. Contact us .
PRAYER SHAWL KNITTING GROUP
The Prayer Shawl Knitting Group meets every second Monday morning in the church library.
We make shawls, lap rugs, and baptismal stoles.
These are distributed when there is a need in the congregation or community.
