Message from Rev. Irene Ty:

10 a.m. Sunday, January. 18: Second Sunday After Epiphany

When two disciples asked Jesus "where are you staying?" (John 1:38), Jesus replied "Come and See". The disciples went to see where Jesus was staying and remained there the whole day. Jesus invited them to spend time with him so they could get to know one another. We are invited to "Come and see" (v. 39). How do we get to know Jesus? One way is by spending time with one another, building a relationship and sharing our faith stories. This Sunday, we will reflect together on how we can cultivate opportunities to do this. Jesus wants to get to know each one of us and have a place in our hearts.

We hope you can join us in person, or if unable, please watch the livestream service: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6m4Nv1BK_o

Choir Practice:  Christine MacDougall, our music director, welcomes you to sing with the choir. Practices are held Sundays from 9:15am to 9:45am in the sanctuary.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge that the land on which Westminster United Church stands has been inhabited by the residents of Turtle Island for thousands of years. This land is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the New Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Neutral, the Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations people. We also acknowledge that Mississauga is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Westminster is committed to the ongoing work of reconciliation as we learn about the effects of colonialism and seek to heal relations with Indigenous people.
