MUSIC

Westminster United Church enjoys a wonderful music ministry that is an integral part of the worship services each week. Christine MacDougall is the musical director.

We endeavour to 'draw the circle wider' with our music program as we integrate more and more music from around the globe.

We remind ourselves through music that 'we are not alone, we live in God's World'. Our worship is enriched and inclusive as we explore diverse musical resources.

The Chancel Choir consists of volunteer singers. The choir sings classical and contemporary repertoire and provides strong musical leadership every Sunday. The choir presents one or two anthems each Sunday.

An organ, a grand piano and other musical instruments can accompany our singing. Congregational singing includes a wide variety of hymns from Voices United, More Voices and other sources.

Guest instrumentalists are often included to help present a music program that is spiritually uplifting, diverse and representative of our global worshiping community.

Rehearsals are held on Sunday morning before the service each week and on Thursday evenings from mid-September to June.

New members are welcome in the Chancel Choir.

Please arrange a meeting with Christine to discuss further details. She can be contacted at jannikris@gmail.com or through the church office Tel. 905-273-9505 .

There are activity packs available for children to use at pews or a small children’s table in the Sanctuary.
