Rev. Mel Rose - Minister [died June 14, 2017 - Obituary]
Rev. Mel grew up in a small fishing village, Brigus Newfoundland. He was the second youngest of seventeen children. When graduated from high school, he attended Memorial University Newfoundland, and then completed divinity training at McGill University and United College, Montreal. Rev. Mel was ordained b Newfoundland Conference of the United Church, in June of 1976.
Following ordination Rev. Mel served the Lanigan Pastoral Charge, Saskatchewan, and Christ the King, Kitchener, Ontario.
In 1986 Rev. Mel entered a full-time counselling and training ministry with, the Pastoral Institute of Northern Ontario, (1986-1998) and then with Lutherwood, Waterloo, (1998-2014). In April of 2014 Rev. Mel retired from Luthewood, to return to Pastoral Ministry. Rev. Mel was appointed retired supply at Westminster, in September of 2014.
Rev Mel enjoyed running and cycling. He completed the Boston Marathon twice, as well as the New York Marathon.
Rev. Mel was married to Julia, and together they had three adult children and five grandchildren.
The guiding theme and scripture that summed his ministry was:

Christine MacDougall - Music Director
Chris MacDougall , Music Director at Westminster United Church, has been in the Church Music Business for about 40 years. (She was VERY young at her first job!)
Currently directing 4 choirs at the church, Chris really enjoys the diversity so unique to Westminster, and loves the multi-cultural aspect of the choirs. Chris recently retired from elementary school teaching, where she taught Primary grades, and directed many choirs. Husband, John MacDougall is a soloist and bass chorister in the choir. He is a member of Justus. Sons David and Eric are avid musicians and U of T grads, pursuing their own lives.
Sonia Bartlett - Office Administrator
Sonia absolutely loves her work at Westminster and the wonderful interaction with the members of the congregation.
She is the mother of two sports-loving boys, Ezekiel and Elijah, who keep her quite busy. When she has spare time, she enjoys watching movies, baking, and spending time with her boys.
